Product Details

Armored fiber optic cable protects fibers with a layer of corrugated steel or interlocking armor — and that armor must be opened without the blade reaching the fibers beneath. An armored fiber optic cable stripping tool scores the metallic armor to a controlled depth so it can be removed cleanly, leaving the buffer tubes and fibers intact. Using a general knife on armored cable risks cutting into the fibers, turning a preparation step into a splice failure.

Aevumix supplies armored cable stripping tools with adjustable, depth-controlled blades that ring- and longitudinally score the armor without penetrating to the core. Built for the corrugated steel armor common in outside-plant and direct-buried cable, they give installers a controlled, repeatable way to access the fibers safely. Because a nicked fiber inside armored cable may not fail until it is under tension in the closure, controlled-depth stripping protects long-term reliability.

Because the right tool depends on your cable construction and armor type, we help you specify the correct stripper. Send your cable types and we will recommend an armored stripping tool and provide a quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

A general knife can cut through the armor into the fibers beneath, causing damage that may only fail later under tension. A depth-controlled armored stripping tool scores the armor without reaching the fibers.

Adjustable-depth tools handle common corrugated-steel and interlocking armor constructions. Send your cable types and we will specify the right tool and settings.

Yes. Our armored strippers score both ring (circumferential) and longitudinal to remove armor cleanly. Tell us your cable and we will confirm.

A fiber nicked inside armored cable may pass initial checks but fail under tension in the closure. Controlled-depth stripping protects the fibers and long-term reliability.
